Best Photo Spots in Houston

Houston has way more variety than people give it credit for. You’ve got skyline views, murals, parks, architecture, and pockets of the city that photograph completely differently depending on where you are.

These are the spots I actually visited and would recommend if you want great photos without spending the whole day bouncing around the city looking for locations.

Some are more obvious, some are easier to miss, but all of them gave me something worth stopping for.

💡 SHANE’S TIP

Houston is spread out, so plan your photo stops by area before you head out. Grouping locations together will save you a lot of time and keep you from spending half the day in the car.

#1: Smither Park

Location: 2441 Munger St, Houston, TX 77023

Note: Since the exhibits is the park consist of mirrors it can get really hot. So, dress as light as you can.

#2: Gerald D. Hines Waterwall

Location: 2800 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056

Note: Get there early (before 11:30 AM CST) because it can get pretty crowded.

#3: BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir

Location: 1150 Brand Ln, Stafford, TX 77477

Note: Photography here is pretty restricted (with a professional camera), but you can definitely take photos. However, photography/video of any kind is prohibited inside of the temple.

#4: Graffiti House

Location: 1503 Chartres St, Houston, TX 77003

#5: Rosemont Pedestrian Bridge

Location: Buffalo Bayou, Buffalo Gap, TX 79508

#6: Buffalo Bayou Park

Location: 1800 Allen Pkwy &, Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77019
