Miami
4 Days in Miami: My Itinerary
Miami can very easily become four straight days of beach, brunch, and nightlife.
And there is nothing wrong with that.
But I wanted at least one experience that gave the trip a little more personality.
Enter glow-in-the-dark ATV riding at night.
Because apparently driving an ATV through the dark with neon lights was the responsible vacation choice lol.
We went in April and had a rental car, which gave us more freedom to move between Miami Beach, the neighborhoods, and anything we wanted to do outside the main tourist areas.

Day 1: South Beach + Ocean Drive
South Beach
Start the trip exactly where you think you should.
South Beach.
Beach day
Walk around
Get food
Take in Miami being Miami
The official Greater Miami tourism site still considers South Beach one of the essential first-time experiences, along with the Art Deco architecture around Ocean Drive.
Ocean Drive
Later, walk Ocean Drive and see the Art Deco buildings once the lights start coming on.
I would not overplan this day.
Let Miami introduce itself.
Day 2: Wynwood + Little Havana + Lunch at the Versace Mansion
Wynwood
Head to Wynwood for the street art and neighborhood atmosphere.
This is one of the places I’d keep because it gives you a completely different side of Miami from the beach.
Walk around, take pictures, grab coffee, and give yourself time to actually explore instead of treating it like a quick mural stop.
Little Havana
Later, head to Little Havana.
Walk Calle Ocho, grab some Cuban coffee, eat something, and just take in the neighborhood.
This is one of those stops that gives the trip more personality and cultural context.
Lunch at the Versace Mansion
We also had lunch at the Versace Mansion, which was definitely one of those “we’re in Miami” moments.
The setting is really what makes it.
You are eating inside one of the most recognizable properties in South Beach, surrounded by all of that over-the-top Mediterranean design and history.
Even if you are not staying there, I think lunch is a fun way to experience the property without making it a whole hotel stay.
Day 3: Glow-in-the-Dark ATV Riding
Nighttime ATV Experience
This is the day I would build around the experience you actually did.
Glow-in-the-dark ATV riding at night is exactly the kind of thing that gives an itinerary personality because it is not what everybody automatically thinks of when they hear Miami.
And doing it at night completely changes the vibe.
I would keep the daytime relatively easy so you are not exhausted before the main event.
That could mean:
Sleeping in
Pool time
Brunch
Beach time
A light lunch
Getting ready without rushing
Then go ride.
Day 4: Everglades + Final Miami Night
Everglades
Since you already had the rental car, I would add the Everglades.
It gives you a side of South Florida that feels nothing like Miami Beach.
An airboat ride is one of the easiest ways to experience the landscape and wildlife, and the Everglades are roughly an hour from central Miami depending on where you go.
Final Night
Once you are back in Miami, make the last night whatever you want it to be.
Nice dinner
Rooftop
South Beach
Drinks
One more night out
Or absolutely nothing
You have already earned it.
What I’d Prioritize
If I had four days, I would keep:
Glow-in-the-dark ATV riding
South Beach
Wynwood
Little Havana
Everglades
One good Miami night out
That gives the trip a mix of:
Beach
Art
Culture
Adventure
Nature
Nightlife
Instead of four days that all start to blur together.
The Bottom Line
Miami is fun because you can make it whatever kind of trip you want.
Beach trip
Food trip
Party trip
Adventure trip
Or some combination of all four.
For me, adding something unexpected like nighttime ATV riding is what keeps the itinerary from feeling like the same Miami trip everybody else took.
