4 Days in Cabo: My Itinerary
Cabo is one of those trips where the scenery does a lot of the work for you.
You have the desert
The ocean
The cliffs
The marina
And then you get out on the water and see the Arch in person and it all starts to make sense.
We rented a car, which I definitely think was the right move because it gave us more freedom to move between Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, beaches, and anything we wanted to stop for along the way.
And yes, jet skiing was absolutely part of the plan.

Day 1: Marina + Arch of Cabo San Lucas
Explore the Marina
I’d start the trip around the marina.
Walk around, grab food, take in the energy, and keep the first day relatively easy.
See the Arch of Cabo San Lucas
This is the obvious Cabo experience, but it is one I would still absolutely do.
Seeing El Arco from the water feels completely different from seeing it in photos.
You can take a boat ride out, see the rock formations, and usually get a better look at the beaches and coastline around Land’s End.
This is one of those stops where I would not overthink it.
You are in Cabo.
Go see the Arch.
Day 2: Jet Ski + Beach Day
Jet Ski
I would make the jet ski the main experience for this day.
Cabo is built for water activities, and this is one of the more fun ways to experience the coastline without turning the entire day into a formal excursion.
Ride
Have fun
Then go relax.
Beach Time
Afterward, spend the rest of the day at the beach or hotel.
This is a good day to let the itinerary breathe.
Day 3: San José del Cabo
This is one I would add because it gives you a different side of Los Cabos.
San José del Cabo feels much calmer and more artsy than Cabo San Lucas.
Spend some time walking around the historic center, checking out galleries, grabbing lunch, and slowing the pace down.
If you like art, this is especially worth working in.
Art District
The gallery district is one of the better places to wander without needing a strict plan.
This is the kind of day where the point is less about hitting five attractions and more about enjoying the area.
Day 4: Scenic Drive + Beach or Boat Experience
For the final day, I would use the car and keep things flexible.
Scenic Drive
Drive part of the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo and make stops based on what looks good.
That could mean:
A beach stop
A lookout
Lunch somewhere with a view
Another marina stop
One last water activity
Optional: Sunset Cruise
If you want one more experience, I would add a sunset cruise.
Cabo is one of those places where being on the water at sunset just makes sense.
It also gives you another chance to see the Arch and coastline from a completely different perspective.

What I’d Prioritize
If I only had four days again, I would make sure these stay:
Arch of Cabo San Lucas
Jet skiing
San José del Cabo
Beach time
One scenic drive
Sunset cruise if you want one more water experience
That gives the trip a really good mix of:
Water
Scenery
Beach
Adventure
Art
A slower neighborhood day
💡 SHANE’S TIP
Do not treat Cabo like the only thing to do is sit at the resort.
The resort can absolutely be part of the trip.
But having a car made it much easier to actually see more of Los Cabos and not feel stuck in one area.
Use the flexibility.
If something looks worth stopping for, stop.
The Bottom Line
Cabo works because it can be both relaxing and active.
You can spend part of the day on a jet ski, part of it on the beach, and still have time to wander San José del Cabo or get back on the water for sunset.
The Arch is iconic for a reason.
But the trip gets better when you give yourself enough room to see what else is around it.
