Costa Rica
Experiences I’d Actually Recommend
These are a couple of the experiences I did during my Costa Rica trip and would actually recommend if you’re planning your own visit.
I’m not adding things just because they’re popular. If it’s on this page, it’s because I did it and thought it was worth my time.
ATV Tour Through Tamarindo
If you want to see more than just the beach, this is a really fun way to do it.
The ATV tour took us through villages, rivers, cattle fields, and white-sand beaches, so it gave us a completely different view of the area than what we would’ve seen just hanging around Tamarindo.
It was one of those activities that felt adventurous without taking over the entire day.
💡 SHANE’S TIP
Wear something you don’t mind getting dusty or dirty. And if you’re bringing a phone, make sure it’s secure because this is definitely not a smooth little sightseeing ride.
Zipline, Horseback Riding, Tubing + Hot Springs
If you want one full adventure day, this is the one I’d pick.
This tour packed a lot into one day: ziplining, horseback riding, river tubing, hot springs, and a mud bath. It was long, but I liked that we got to do so many different things without having to book everything separately.
This was easily one of the most memorable days of the trip.
💡 SHANE’S TIP
Eat a real breakfast before you go and be ready for a full day. Bring water shoes, a change of clothes, and only take what you actually need because you’ll be moving around a lot.
